Giggles Ain't Laughin' No More - #8 of 80

Artist Violeta Angeles Brody
After Giggles gave the officer information for tonight’s show he went to the big tent.
His nerves were shot.
Adrenalin had been pumping hard for hours and he was mentally and physically exhausted.
The McKinsey twins were practicing in the natural light from the top of the tent and half lights illuminating the dark spots.
Giggles slipped in unnoticed and watched from the bleachers.
The girls rolled and swung in circles.
Dancing together in the air held only by cloth and thigh muscles.
Giggles laid down on the cool metal bench.
It felt soothing on his face.
He drifted off easily.

The only sound was the soft ruffle as the cloth wound and unwound from the McKinsey’s bodies.

Thank again for the amazing artwork from Violeta. Check out more of her work on her Deviant Art page here:

Micro Fiction - Once Along The Bell Tower

She looked in his vacant eyes. A pool of black ooze remained at the feet of the unholy creature. His gaping maw still open in ravaging suspended furry. Jessica brought the flame around and waved it at the statue. Just before it could seize her she had thrown the bottle of elixir down the beast’s screaming throat. As the witch had promised the prophecy was complete and the gargoyle was turned back to stone. Never again will Jessica be the same and never again will she play Once Along The Bell Tower.

Thanks for reading. Please let me know what you thought. I wrote this micro fiction as a challenge to make something from start to end with very few words but no less excitement.

Giggles Ain't Laughin' No More - #7 of 80

Odd Family Haunted House 2012

This is where it happened.
Looking through the back window Giggles smiles.
Smith is pounding on the roof.
“Don’t you fucking drive away! We're not through coward!” Smith yells as he blocks the car.
Giggles lurches the car backwards.
“What? Are you going to run me over?”
Giggles’ hands tighten on the steering wheel.
He revs the engine.
“Oh I’m so scared. You don’t have the balls!”
Emphasis on balls.
That was the trigger.
The impetus of the argument.
And the moment Giggles lost control.
The car came to a stop 50 yards further back.
Giggles got out and locked it.
“Thank you.” Said the officer.

“I have another question sir, please step over here.”

No artist submissions this chapter. I needed to something posted since I have been gone for a while. This is a picture of me at our haunted house a couple of years ago. Thanks for reading.

Giggles Ain't Laughin' No More - #6 of 80

Artist Sarah Perez

Giggles watched the people look away or look up.
Walking through the crowd of his fellow circus performers followed by a police officer.
Sweat beads drip down his face diving off his eyelashes and landing on his belly.
Giggles turns right, his heart racing as the officer grasps his arm.
“This way sir,” The officer says.
“Oh, yeah. Sorry,” Says Giggles.
They both emerge into the field behind the circus.
The sun blinds Giggles and he squints to focus on his car which is blocking the exit drive way.
“I’ll move it right now, sorry sir.”

“No problem. We have to keep that lane clear.”

Thank you to Sarah Perez for her awesome artwork. It is on a wood block and she gave it to me in person as a gift. I couldn't be more excited, proud, and grateful for the wonderful people in my life. See her other artwork on her website: http://www.sarahperezdesign.com/

Giggles Ain't Laughin' No More - #5 of 80

Artist - Jasmine Boswell
Freedom comes with a price.
Giggles’ food is free from his stomach and the price is searing pain down the back of his throat.
As he leaves the trailer he sees Samuel the lead carny talking to a police officer.
They both look to Giggles as Samuel points in his direction.
Giggles has nothing left in his stomach but he feels nauseous none the less.
They begin to walk his way.
"This is it," Giggles thinks.
"I regret nothing."
“This is him.” Samuel says.
The police officer turns and says something into his walkie talkie on his shoulder and turns back.

“Sir, do you drive a red, white, and blue Mini?”

Giggles Ain't Laughin' No More - #4 of 80

Artist - Bob "Uncle Bacon" Hurton

Sweat dripped from his forehead and clouded his red eyes.
Starring in the mirror Giggles pants out labored breath.
Is it hot in here? He thinks.
Taking another large gulp of milk he looks at himself.
Milk mustache.
Faded clown makeup from yesterday.
He hadn’t showered when he got home from grave digging.
“Why’d they fucking put jalapenos in the chorizo?” he said to the mirror.
Out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of his muddy shoes.
What did I do? He thought.
Then it all came back up and out onto the mirror.

Thanks to Bob "Uncle Bacon" Hurton for this awesome linocut print. I want a t-shirt of this now!

If you're an artist and would like to make a piece for my upcoming chapters let me know!

Giggles Ain't Laughin' No More - #3 of 80

Artist - Junior Mora

As Giggles left his trailer the dogs barked.
“Get those mongrels away from my trailer. I was trying to sleep!” Giggles yelled.
Smiley grinned his toothless grin.
The dogs yearned to bite an ankle.
Shin.
Or anything in their reach.
Giggles couldn't help but snicker.
Six Pomeranians with spike collars and leather jackets barking like crazed freaks will do that to anyone.
Giggles walked to the small tent for breakfast.
He smiled.
Today was going to be a good day.

Thanks so much to the amazing artwork from Junior Mora. Check out more of his work on Instagram and Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/junior.mora.94 and http://instagram.com/junior4art
